Dr. Eliza Hammond, a distinguished individual, was born amidst the picturesque mountains of North Carolina. Her formative years were spent in Columbia, Maryland, where she resided until her completion of high school. Displaying a deep-rooted connection to her homeland, she made a deliberate choice to return to North Carolina for her undergraduate studies, ultimately achieving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from High Point University.

Driven by a passion for knowledge and a desire to make a profound impact on society, Dr. Hammond pursued further education at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. It was there that she embarked on an enriching journey, culminating in the attainment of her Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree, propelling her into the esteemed realm of pharmaceutical practice.

Soon after her notable academic accomplishment, Dr. Hammond made the conscious decision to relocate back to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she has since dedicated the past 14 years of her illustrious career to serving as a pharmacist at Atrium Health. Her invaluable contributions and unwavering commitment have positioned her as the esteemed manager of one of Atrium's esteemed outpatient pharmacies. It is within this role that she ardently fulfills her duty of enlightening patients on medication-related matters and guiding them in therapy management.

Throughout her tenure in Charlotte, Dr. Hammond has witnessed numerous transformations, predominantly positive in nature. Yet, she remains deeply concerned by the lamentable decline in affordability within the city. The issue of accessible housing strikes a poignant chord within her, as she herself was raised by a resilient single mother alongside her twin brother. The presence of affordable housing played a pivotal role in fostering a secure environment that enabled their pursuit of the quintessential American dream. Both siblings excelled academically, with her brother forging a career as a linguist for the government, while Dr. Hammond emerged as an accomplished pharmacist, as previously mentioned.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that the land upon which Legacy Lake will stand was astutely acquired by their indomitable mother. In a remarkable display of intergenerational determination, Dr. Hammond, her twin brother, and their mother stand united in continuing the legacy of providing safe, affordable housing for seniors and working-class families. Their collective dedication symbolizes a resolute commitment to empower individuals and ensure their access to the fundamental pillar of secure habitation.
